GUE NextGen Science Panel

Transforming Dive Training for the Next Generation

The NextGen Science Panel is a new mentorship network designed bridge the gap between established researchers and the next generation of young scientific divers

This initiative connects active researchers with divers eager to get involved with Scientific Diving, GUE Projects, Project Baseline activities and much more.It is not just open to NextGen Scholars and Trainees but to any young diver in our community seeking personalised advice and mentorship opportunities.

The Science Panel features experienced researchers across marine biology, geology, earth sciences, coastal sedimentology, physiology, and marine genomics. These mentors are active in diving-related, maintain strong networks, and and dedicated to supporting GUE and Project Baseline missions.

Each Panel members offers mentorship at their own level of availability - ranging from a one time networking conversation or developing into bigger project collaborations, depending on the interest and availability of both parties. Eventually it is our hope to offer substantial opportunities to a wider range of aspiring scientific divers, and more mentors will become available as interest develops.
