2026 Trainees

Aindri Morahela (Sri Lanka): The founder of All About that Reef, a marine conservation initiative dedicated to ocean education, outreach and awareness. Her long term goal is to put Sri Lanka as the next premier wreck diving destination, combining science, conservation and adventure to unlock the country's extraordinary submerged heritage. 

Bijan Faghfouri (Netherlands): his goal is to be a cave and tech diver whilst creating a framework to support project grant requests and improve project management efficiency and streamlining of said processes (background in Business Information and management and strategy consulting).

Jacinta Kimani (Kenya): SSI Instructor and Miss Scuba Kenya 2024, dedicated to marine conservation, inspiring women and youth to dive, and working towards a future tin technical diving for ocean protection.

Rangsimatiti Binda Saichompoo - Kat (France/Thailand): Biomaterial engineer, and aspiring connector between materials sciences and marine conservation.

Janice Marquez Molina (Ecuador): with a deep passion for ocean advocacy in health and experience in subtidal monitoring and working with coastal communities, her goal is to become a diving instructor to expend scientific diving, deep-sea exploration and participatory conservation across Latin America.

Isabell Hentschel (Germany): Scientists and scuba divers working on greenhouse gas emissions in the marine environments.

Ivonne Trejo Ventura (Mexico): Speleologist passionate about the conservation of subterranean ecosystems and sports related to caves.

Samy AbouHussein (Egypt): Oceanographer and chemical researcher currently pursuing a masters in Environmental Management of Climate Change. His goal is to one day use photogrammetry techniques to produce both impactful scientific data and visual narratives.

Thiago Cardozo dos Santos Costa (Brazil): interested in using technical and scientific diving expertise to document and protect vulnerable marine habitats while inspiring and empowering other Latin American students in biological and marine sciences.

Daniel Cossey (UK): PhD in freshwater and mussel ecology, who aims to expand the research into unexplored and deeper areas.
