A first focus will be in the area where the two regions meet in the southern part of Sweden.
The activities are planned for five consecutive weeks and the goal the different weeks is similar; to retrieve and document as much ghost nets as possible taking weather, diving conditions and diver´s experience into consideration to be able to do this in a safe and efficient way. Please note, however, that the area is exposed and very sensitive to changing weather conditions.
The dates are as follows;
⁃ 13-20 July - minimum requirement GUE Fundamentals Techpass
⁃ 20-27 July - minimum requirement GUE Fundamentals Techpass
⁃ 27 July to 3 August - minimum requirement GUE Tech 1 and DPV1

In connection with the start of the separate weeks, retrieval training will be offered for all divers.
Diving will take place on all depths from 25-50 metres which is the maximum depth of the project. We dive standard GUE protocols on nitrox 32 or 18/45. Bottom time normally 30-60 minutes depending on tasks. Bottom temperatures in the Baltic Sea remains low also in the summer at around 5 degrees Celsius, but temperature on decompression is normally 10-15 degrees.
Travel to the project location by flight, train, bus or your own means of transport. To facilitate dive planning and logistics, all activities run Saturday to Saturday.
We rent two houses for the teams, but expect to share bedrooms.
We will have a compressor and other needed facilities available to cater for our own gasses.

Beschreibung: After finalising mapping and documenting ghost nets in the Baltic Sea in 2023, Operation Spöknät/Ghost Net will now turn to retrieve nets in Blekinge and Kalmar regions with support from the relevant Regional Administrative Boards. A first focus will be in the area where the two regions meet in the southern part of Sweden.
The activities are planned for five consecutive weeks and the goal the different weeks is similar; to retrieve and document as much ghost nets as possible taking weather, diving conditions and diver´s experience into consideration to be able to do this in a safe and efficient way. Please note, however, that the area is exposed and very sensitive to changing weather conditions.
The dates are as follows;
⁃ 13-20 July - minimum requirement GUE Fundamentals Techpass
⁃ 20-27 July - minimum requirement GUE Fundamentals Techpass
⁃ 27 July to 3 August - minimum requirement GUE Tech 1 and DPV1
⁃ 3-10 August - minimum requirement GUE Tech 1 and DPV1
⁃ 10-17 August - minimum requirement GUE Tech 1 and DPV1
In connection with the start of the separate weeks, retrieval training will be offered for all divers.
Diving will take place on all depths from 25-50 metres which is the maximum depth of the project. We dive standard GUE protocols on nitrox 32 or 18/45. Bottom time normally 30-60 minutes depending on tasks. Bottom temperatures in the Baltic Sea remains low also in the summer at around 5 degrees Celsius, but temperature on decompression is normally 10-15 degrees.
Travel to the project location by flight, train, bus or your own means of transport. To facilitate dive planning and logistics, all activities run Saturday to Saturday.
We rent two houses for the teams, but expect to share bedrooms.
We will have a compressor and other needed facilities available to cater for our own gasses.
